Charlton County, GA came into being in 1854 and Folkston became the county seat in 1901. An area filled with natural beauty, friendly people and history.

Adventure Awaits!Folkston is Camden County's next door neighbor. It features an 18 hole golf course, and avid train watchers gather on a platform called the Folkston Funnel (As featured on CBS Sunday Morning). The renovated train depot houses the Chamber of Commerce and railroad memorabilia.

Folkston is the eastern entrance to the incredible Okefenokee Swamp and has been a National Wildlife Refuge since 1937.
